Huawei Cloud has announced the creation of its own Metaverse & Web3.0 Alliance, signaling the company’s strategic push into next-generation digital infrastructure. The initiative is designed to foster collaboration among developers, enterprises, and technology partners in areas including virtual reality, blockchain, decentralized applications, and digital asset management.
According to Huawei, the alliance will focus on:
- Developing standards and best practices for Web3.0 adoption
- Supporting startups and projects in the Metaverse ecosystem
- Integrating cloud computing solutions with blockchain and NFT platforms
A Huawei spokesperson explained that the move is part of the company’s broader strategy to expand its digital ecosystem beyond traditional cloud services, leveraging emerging technologies to create new economic opportunities.
“The Metaverse and Web3 are not just buzzwords—they represent the future of digital interaction and decentralized value. By forming this alliance, we aim to connect innovators and accelerate the adoption of these technologies globally,” the spokesperson said.
The alliance is expected to host hackathons, developer programs, and pilot projects over the coming year to help members experiment with decentralized apps and Metaverse environments. Huawei also plans to collaborate with universities, research centers, and blockchain startups to cultivate talent and innovation in these fields.
Analysts see the initiative as Huawei’s strategic move to compete with major players like Nvidia and other tech giants in the race for AI-powered Metaverse solutions.
