Token jumps after former FTX CEO posts for the first time since March 2025
The account of Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), former CEO of the FTX crypto exchange, became active on X (formerly Twitter) on September 24, 2025 — marking his first post since March this year. This triggered a sharp spike in the FTT token, which surged over 55% at its peak.
At the time of writing, FTT has stabilized around $0.99 after the initial surge.
It’s important to note that SBF did not publish the post himself. A comment under the post clarified:
“No, SBF is not posting on his own from prison. I am a friend posting on his behalf.”
Meanwhile, Travis Kling, founder of Ikigai Asset Management, had previously expressed forgiveness for Bankman-Fried’s actions and urged those affected to let go of resentment, emphasizing that hatred can destroy a person from within.
For context, in March 2025, SBF gave an interview to American journalist Tucker Carlson, discussing prison life, the future of cryptocurrencies, and regulatory issues including the SEC. In May, reports suggested that SBF could be released four years early, with a potential release date of December 14, 2044.
