The developers of 2XKO, a new fighting game set in the League of Legends universe, have announced ambitious plans to integrate NFTs and tokenized assets into the gameplay. The studio aims to create a competitive platform that could rival classic fighting games like Street Fighter.
Players will be able to collect unique NFT characters with special abilities and customizable skins. These tokens can be bought, sold, and traded on an in-game marketplace, creating a real blockchain-based game economy.
“We want to combine the classic dynamics of fighting games with the possibilities of digital assets,” said the project lead. “Each character and their equipment will have unique properties verified on the blockchain, ensuring rarity and collectible value.”
Closed beta testing is already underway on PC, with a full release expected this year on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. Crypto market analysts note that NFT integration could attract a new audience of gamers and crypto enthusiasts, while also providing developers with innovative monetization opportunities.
The 2XKO platform represents another example of how blockchain and NFTs are reshaping the gaming industry, turning digital assets into both collectible and functional in-game items.
