Tether, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin USDT, expects to post an annual profit of $15 billion in 2025, according to company CEO Paolo Ardoino. The statement was made during the Plan B Forum in Lugano, as reported by Bloomberg.

Ardoino noted that Tether has achieved 99% profitability and no longer relies on external capital. However, he acknowledged growing interest from institutional investors eager to buy into the company.

“We’ve seen a huge number of companies approach us with investment offers. We just need to define what valuation would be too low for us,” he said.

Among the firms reportedly in talks with Tether are SoftBank and Ark Invest, both expressing strong interest in potential strategic partnerships.

At the same time, Tether is preparing to launch a new stablecoin — USAT, which will be specifically targeted at the U.S. market. According to Ardoino, this move aligns with a more crypto-friendly stance from Donald Trump’s administration, potentially opening new regulatory and business opportunities.

Earlier this year, Ardoino also announced Tether’s initiative to develop crypto wallet infrastructure, signaling the company’s ambition to expand beyond stablecoin issuance into the broader digital finance ecosystem.
