On October 2025 the price of Zcash (ZEC) surged past $390, setting a new all-time high for the privacy-focused cryptocurrency. Over the past week, the token has gained nearly 50% in value.

Zcash leverages zero-knowledge technology to enable anonymous transactions, and its rising popularity has pushed its market capitalization above $6.2 billion, up from roughly $1.1 billion at the end of September. This growth has positioned ZEC ahead of Monero in terms of market cap.

According to CoinGecko, the total market capitalization of privacy-oriented tokens now approaches $22 billion.

The recent price surge accelerated after Grayscale announced the launch of a private placement of Zcash Trust shares for accredited investors, fueling renewed interest in privacy coins.

For comparison, both Monero and Zcash were labeled high-risk assets by Binance earlier this year on January 4, 2025. Since then, Monero has risen approximately 110%, while Zcash has soared around 1450%.
